Easter Weekend!!! (April 11th & 12th)

We went up to Dallas for the weekend and it was a really nice trip. We got to see Brad's Aunt & Uncle and his cousins. Jaxson's Grandma Felder and Great-Grandma Mimi also got to come up from Houston. Jaxson was a perfect little gentleman at church - overall a beautiful weekend. Below are some pictures from the trip.

The longest post ever!

Alright alright alright....I absolutely suck at this whole blogging thing. So much has happened lately and in my head I make a mental note to write it down and tell the world about it but then I get home and I have to play with, feed, bathe, and put the baby to sleep. Blogging definitely takes a back seat. So, mom and Erin.....this blog is for y'all because I think you two are the only ones that actually read this thing.

Let's see, about 6-8 weeks have passed.

March 17th (St. Patrick's Day)

We took Jaxson on his first camping trip in March. We went up to Little Rock to see the rest of the Felder family. It was totally AWESOME!!! We rented an RV and attempted our luck at fishing and burned a fire for 3 days straight. The campfire was perfect but unfortunately the only thing that was caught during fishing was a tree that I snagged (but I didn't lose/break my pole this time so it was a step in the right direction). Jaxson did great. He really loves being outdoor. Below are some pictures from the weekend.

March 25th

Well, every working mother knows what I am about to type. I returned to work. Jaxson just turned 3 months old. I held it together for the most part. I didn't sleep the night before though. I checked Jaxson's school checklist about 40 times to make sure that he had everything he would need. I dressed him up in the cutest outfit ever. Brad and I took him in together. We met his teacher and kissed him about a hundred times and then passed him over and we said goodbye. My eyes watered over and then out in the parking lot I leaned into Brad's chest and cried. My heart broke. Somebody else would take care of my son during the day. I have never hated the speed limit so bad as the afternoon of his first day at school. I rushed to the day care, scooped him up, and sat in the rocker and just squeezed him and loved on him. And he did great. There were no tears on his part. Just the most beautiful smile and the recognition of my voice. The day care is wonderful and my thoughts are 100% at ease. He really enjoys his classmates and he is smiley every time I pick him up. It definitely makes me more comfortable about returning to work.

I started a new job. So far I really like it. I am doing home health physical therapy and enjoying the flexibility of the schedule. I get to enjoy my precious time with Jaxson.

Jaxson turned 3 months old!!!! He is getting so big. I can't believe it! He weighed around 11 pounds at this point. He is beginning to fill out his little body!


April 10th


A giant bunny came to the day care on Thursday for "Hoppy Hour". Jaxson did great! He wasn't scared at all! He looked at it kind of weird but then again Jaxson has always been the inquisitive type.

2 Months Old!!!

Wow...we are getting so grown up! Jaxson turned 2 months old today. Unfortunately the dreaded immunization shots were today. Jaxson is growing right on schedule (such a big boy!)

He weighs 10 lbs 3 ounces and he is 21 1/2 inches long. He has tacked on about 3 lbs and 2 inches since his 2 week old measurements. He is in the 25 percentile for weight and 10 percentile for height. And his head is in the 50th percentile!!! He is sooo smart!! Jaxson has been holding his head up for some time and smiling and beginning to coo at us. He stands up with some assist and he absolutely LOVES to play airplane. He enjoys daily walks with mom and of course patty cake with his legs. He is getting a little more chubby in the cheeks and I think there is even a second chin emerging. He is such a sweet baby but definitely cries when he is hungry.


Jaxson tolerated the shots fairly well but it was tough on mom. Not so much the crying but the look of horror and pain on his face when she stuck his leg about ripped my heart out. He cried for a little bit and has been a little extra fussy, other than that he is a trooper. He completely zonked out when we got home.

And this is my official 2 month old picture!!! I am getting to be a big boy (10 lbs, 3 ounces!!)

Valentine's Day 2009

Okay, before everyone freaks out...this is paint. Mommy and Jaxson were getting creative and made Daddy a Valentine's Card. We just got a little messy with the paint in the half second that mom looked away! Look below to see how good Jaxson did.

Jaxson's first gift to us!

Our little boy gave a beautiful gift this past Saturday, February 7th. For the first time ever...Jaxson gave us his first purposeful smile. What a joy it was to see his little lips turn upward and his face light up. And of course we know that it was his first REAL smile because there was no gas associated. =) Brad got the smile too so that really made his day. Brad was holding him and cooing and sure enough, Jaxson's face lit up! It was awesome and so endearing.

Jaxson is GREAT!! He had a few tough nights at first but after bringing in the new year with us, he began to sleep through the night about 8-9 hours (with one small feeding in the middle). I say small feeding because the kid doesn't waste any time when it comes to food. He just about gets whiplash looking for me every 2 1/2 to 3 hours and then he sucks the food down in about 10 minutes. We went to his 2 week appointment last week. He weighed 7lbs. 1 ounce and grew a half inch!! The doctor was very pleased with him and kept remarking at how content he looked. He also amazed the doctor but putting his own pacifier back into his mouth twice without any help!! My kid is amazing...doesn't every mother say that though?? =) But really mine is....just look at the tummy time picture and the head control with the lift. We are going to start crawling and standing up next week. Brad has made the goal of mowing the yard by 6 months. =) Well anyways...enjoy the next few pictures of our first few days/weeks at home with the kiddo. Brad and I have cherished our time with him but daddy has to go back to work next week. (tear)
