Playtime with Mom and Dad

Jaxson is GREAT!! He had a few tough nights at first but after bringing in the new year with us, he began to sleep through the night about 8-9 hours (with one small feeding in the middle). I say small feeding because the kid doesn't waste any time when it comes to food. He just about gets whiplash looking for me every 2 1/2 to 3 hours and then he sucks the food down in about 10 minutes. We went to his 2 week appointment last week. He weighed 7lbs. 1 ounce and grew a half inch!! The doctor was very pleased with him and kept remarking at how content he looked. He also amazed the doctor but putting his own pacifier back into his mouth twice without any help!! My kid is amazing...doesn't every mother say that though?? =) But really mine is....just look at the tummy time picture and the head control with the lift. We are going to start crawling and standing up next week. Brad has made the goal of mowing the yard by 6 months. =) Well anyways...enjoy the next few pictures of our first few days/weeks at home with the kiddo. Brad and I have cherished our time with him but daddy has to go back to work next week. (tear)

"Hmmm, let me think about that for a moment..."

So alert!!! Just chillaxin' in my bouncy seat.

Check out my elephant!!!Okay, seriously, how many two week olds can do this during tummy time???

JAXSON BRYCE FELDER is here!!!

all right all right....I have not forgotten about my promise to put updates on my blog....it is just tough to find a block of time. So let me get everyone caught up... My little miracle was born on Christmas Day at 12:08 pm. He weighed in at a whoppin' 6 pounds 14.5 ounces and he was 19.75 inches long! Not exactly the 8-9 pounder that everyone was predicting. =) He was actually born on his due date which is astounding in itself. The birth was a bit rough. I had 66 hours of total labor since my 5 minute contractions started 3 days prior to the actual birth. Then they finally admitted me the afternoon of Christmas Eve and I was in about 20 hours of active labor. After some pretty intense contractions and only dilating to about 7 cm, Jaxson decided that he just couldn't fit down the chute. His big ol' noggin (thank you Brad) kept ramming into my bladder and was too large for my pelvis. So all of this was going on and then the little guy's heart rate began to slow down (a little low for comfort). And to top it all off, there was too much meconium coming out and Jaxson was swallowing some. The doctor came in and decided that they needed to do a C-Section to get him out before it became an emergency. Talk about scaring me like crazy. I began to cry and I think every nurse came in and grabbed some part of my body in order to get me prepped for surgery. It was so rushed from that point on, plus I was exhausted. I just remember Brad telling me it would all be okay and that little Jaxson would be here soon (safe and sound). And sure enough, he was. My little guy showed up unscathed and crying like crazy. Below are some pictures....
Brad trying to calm me down and talk me through what was going on during delivery.
