A lot has happened over the past year. Wow I can't believe it has been a year since I blogged on this thing but I am hoping once you hear how busy I have been you will let it slide.
Jaxson is now 18 months!!! He runs, jumps, tackles random things...he is definitely ALL boy. He has got quite a few solid words but tries his hardest to talk to you. Sometimes he says a blend of things and looks at you like..."well, what do you think, mom?" It is hilarious. Jaxson is still not a great eater but one way or another, he is finally growing!!!! He has always hovered around the 7th% for weight and the 20th% for height (and of course 80th% for head--thank you dad!) At his 18 month checkup, he is now in the 25th% for weight and 54th% for height and the 84th% for head. Seriously, how can the had get much bigger!!! =) So smart! He loves to be outside, usually following dad around at his heels and "helping" with projects around the house. He absolutely LOVES to go swimming and splash water everywhere. He loves the dogs and his favorite movie is Bolt...can't blame him it is great!!! Jaxson now attends the day care in my building. He is on the 1st floor and I am on the 3rd. I still don't get to see him as often as I would like but it is nice that he is right there if he needs me. The daycare is great and he is holding his own with the bigger kids and being so sweet with the younger kids. Everyone just loves him, calling him "Action Jaxson" or "Casanova Jaxson".
Well I guess the other BIG news is that Jaxson is going to be a BIG brother!!! Brad and I are so excited!! I am currently 25 weeks along and getting bigger by the day!! We are expecting another little boy on October 14th and his name will be Kellan. We are not quite sure about the middle name. We like that he has a good strong Irish name and he sure does kick a lot when daddy talks to him. As of now he is quite a bit bigger than Jaxson was at this point!
Brad has been really busy with his job and getting a lot of new construction jobs. He is also always doing something around the house to make it a little nicer. He enclosed our back patio with some rod iron fencing to give Jaxson a little play space with his toys and no dogs knocking him over. His latest project is ripping out the carpet in the upstairs bathrooms and laying down tile. We are mid-project with that and I am sooo excited because it is gorgeous so far!!! I can't wait to see the finished product.
I have had a few changes as well over the past year. I left my job with home health physical therapy last summer and got hired by a group of orthopedic doctors out of Georgetown. We opened my own clinic in Round Rock that I am running with myself and a PTA. We are getting busier each day and it is so much fun! I love the orthopedic injury variety that we get to see as well as the spine problems. The staff here is pretty good for the most part and it is nice to see everyone working together. I truly love coming to work each day.
Well I know that this is probably the longest blog in the world but like I said...it has been a year since I last wrote on here. In summary, life is good...really good.

7 Months Old!!!! WOW!!!
I can't hardly believe it... 7 months old!!! and I have enjoyed every single day of it! Jaxson is such an incredible joy. I did not imagine how often my stomach would do a sommersault every time that child smiles. He is so much fun right now.....
Basically, he is awesome!! I love him to death! I am so proud to be his mommy!
- He weighs 17 lbs and feels like solid muscle...hardly any rolls on him at all!
- He has got 2 front bottom teeth~at 6 1/2 months ( so freakin' cute!)
- He is still working on the crawl but trying harder to stand.
- He is sooo ticklish!
- He sits independently, even on the floor of the tub.
- He is able to cruise around furniture or takes steps with hand held assist.
- If he could jump or bounce in the world, he would definitely excel at it!!
- He laughs at all my jokes - AWESOME!!
- He babbles like crazy, doing better with blending sounds together.
- He LOVES pretty girls....he will track them across the room!
- He has started waiving hello and goodbye.
- He LOVES peek-a-boo!
- He stills sleeps ~ 10-12 hrs per night.
- He enjoys daycare (of course he is the only boy in his class - who wouldn't enjoy those odds) - but he LOVES seeing mommy and daddy at the end of the day!
- He LOVES the tub and splashing EVERYWHERE!!!
- He gives his best smiles to his mommy and daddy. I cherish each one I get!
Basically, he is awesome!! I love him to death! I am so proud to be his mommy!

Father's Day Weekend
Yes...I know I am a little slow on this posting but it has been REALLY busy around here lately and the blog is only a small part of the massive to-do list that I have.

So on Father's Day weekend, we went to my parent's house. Brad and I and the kid met my little brother, Brian, and his girlfriend, Sam, and his roommate...umm sorry don't remember his name...at my parent's house. Only my parents went to Dallas for the day. So we all got to lounge around and drink beer by the pool. It was great....very relaxing. My parents came home later that evening and we all got to hang out together. We got my father a grill for Father's Day . It was great!
Speaking of Father's Day....It was Brad's first one. Here is a my little tribute to what a great father he is to Jaxson.
1. Jaxson LOVES to hear Daddy call out his name in his deep voice... "Big Jax!"
2. Jaxson gets to spend 90% of bath time with Daddy
3. Jaxson LOVES getting to be tossed up in the air by Daddy
4. Jaxson LOVES to practice zerberts with Daddy
5. Jaxson LOVES to play peek-a-boo with Daddy and giggle with delight when he sees Daddy's smile.
6. Jaxson gets a goodnight kiss from Daddy every single night...no matter what is going on.
7. Jaxson gets to ride on the 4-wheeler with Daddy
8. Jaxson gets to see Daddy first thing every morning....secretly...this is Daddy's favorite!!
There are honestly so many other things that Brad does for his son. The unexplainable joy that I see on his face is so special to me and I am pleased that I get to treasure every moment with those two guys. They are my favorite people!! Happy Father's Day, Brad!!
Enjoy a couple of pictures and a video from that weekend:

Disappointed in America
I am pretty disappointed in the way that America has glorified Michael Jackson's death. Everyone states that he was a musical genius...the King of Pop....What about pedophile? He was a dirty man that liked little boys and abusing them. He was involved in 2 different child molestation cases that he settled out of. If you ask me, America is a better place and definitely safer because of his death. If you ask me...good riddance.

Some people are jerks
Well I wasn't going to post this subject but then I saw a news brief on the Today show talking about the same thing. Somebody slashed my spare tire on the back of my jeep. I mean, really??? Why would somebody do that? What is the point? If I pissed someone off, don't you think they would go after the four tires on the ground? But, no...they go after a spare tire just to be mischievous. So the news story that I saw was from Houston. A judge (A JUDGE!!!) was caught on video camera keying his neighbors car!! What the hell is going on with people??? Complete maliciousness...like I said...some people are jerks.

Our new floor!
Okay, I have a math equation for everyone....
...so we have been in our house for over 6 years......same carpet + two big dogs (dirty paws, little squirts of pee and throw up) + mutiple parties and get togethers = super nasty stained carpet...+...new small baby = KATY GETS A NEW FLOOR!!!!!
Here are some before photos:

Here are some in the middle photos:

The dirt that accumulates under the carpet (after vacuuming!)

The air cleaning going nuts from all the dust and dirt in the air while ripping up carpet.

And here is the finished product (minus the little bit of redecorating I need to do):

Brad's favorite trim work

Little Perks of Motherhood
My husband is AWESOME!!!! Look at this awesome Mother's Day ring that he gave me. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! It is has Jaxson's name and birthdate written on the sides and a blue topaz (his birthstone) in the center. It is designed to be petite so that the next ring for the next kid can be fused with this one. I am sooo excited that my ring is finally here. The only unfortunate part is that my aggie ring has now been retired....but I think this is a good replacement!!
